Students are recommended to Himalayan Children for sponsorship by the headteachers of the schools, or through our contacts in Ladakh.
Our initial aim is to fund the schooling for four pupils for four years.
The children live in the remote areas of :
Zanskar – the most isolated of all trans-Himalayan valleys.
Changthong – to gain education for their children, the people of Changthong are migrating into Leh.
Skurbachen – the village is 120 km from Leh.
Nubrah – the valley is situated 150 km north of Leh.
Basgo – a small village 40 kb west of Leh, with a wonderful
deserted 17thC fortress
Likir – north west of Leh
