
Himalayan Children Child Protection Policy Statement

We believe it is the responsibility of everyone who works for Himalayan Children to promote the welfare of all children and young people and to keep them safe. They should follow the policy and guidance of our charity in a way that protects them
Our charity will meet our commitment to keep all the children, that we support, safe by adopting the following procedures:
• All potential sponsors will be asked to complete a registration form and will be interviewed by the charity
• All correspondence between schools, sponsors and individual children will be organised and screened through the Trustees of the charity
• Information that can identify any individual children will not be shared on any public forum
• Access to our Facebook page and newsletter will be by invitation only
• Home addresses of children will not be shared
• All sponsors or supporters of the charity will understand that they are not permitted to meet individual children or visit their schools in Ladakh unless accompanied by a Trustee, through a visit that is organised and sanctioned by the charity
• All visits by charity representatives to schools and families will be by appointment only
• Schools and families will be informed of our policy and will understand that visits by individual supporters are not permitted. They will be asked to inform the charity immediately if approached by anyone who attempts to make contact outside of the arrangements outlined in this policy.
• Our policy and procedures will be shared on our website and with all representatives and supporters of the charity.
All Trustees and representatives for the charity have a duty to report individuals or practice that place children at risk to –
