Our annual walk
Please join us for the annual walk in aid of Himalayan Children.
This year we will be walking a circular route from/to Porlock, via Bossington on Sunday 27th September 2015 starting at 10:30.
It’s a beautiful and very picturesque walk with lots of variety – coastal , pretty countryside, woodland etc. The distance is approximately 8.5 miles, but with a shorter option of 4.5 miles if you would prefer.
The walk is level and easy going however the hill going up into Worthy woods is steep in one or two places. The shorter option avoids any hills!!
Please be sure to wear walking boots/suitable footwear as the ground can be uneven in places, e.g pebbles and slippery if there has been a lot of rain.
Tea and Cakes
You will be pleased to know that Gail’s usual stall will be en route, laden with scrumptious cake and plenty of tea!
How to take part
For the usual donation of £5 to Himalayan Children, you will get a map of the walk, together with route instructions. You can either pick one up in advance from Gail’s salon, or you can arrive a little earlier on the day and Gail will have them ready at the start of the walk.
The walk starts from Porlock High Street Post Office (TA24 8PY). There is a public car park in Riverside Row (TA24 8PX). For the car park drive through village and follow the public car park signs.
